In Loving Memory of Ed Opelski (1947-2006)

Edward Opelski

Edward Paul Opelski, died on Saturday, April 22, 2006, at St. Rosa Lima Domenica Hospital
in Henderson, Nev. He was a husband, proud father and loving brother.   Ed was born on
March 23, 1947, in Norristown, to his late parents, Frank and Marie (Larson) Opelski. He
was raised in Conshohocken and Plymouth Meeting. He graduated from  Plymouth
Whitemarsh High School in 1964.

As a young boy, Ed was very active in the Boy Scouts of America and acquired the proud
degree of an Eagle Scout.   He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force shortly after graduation. When
the U.S. Pueblo was seized, Ed volunteered for deployment to a security assignment in the
Republic of Korea. He then served the remainder of his tour at the Hickman Air Force Base
in Hawaii.

Ed worked in the nuclear industry for over 35 years, the last five years as assurance
manager for Navarro Research on Las Vegas, Nev.

In addition to his wife Christine, Ed is survived by his son, Jeffrey of Grand Rapids, Mich.;
two daughters, Eryn of Saginaw, Mich., and Darrough of Essexville, Mich.; two grandsons,
Harrison Morse and Brock Jones; two stepdaughters, Taylor and Sydney Stradley of
Henderson, Nev. He is also survived by two sisters, Patricia (Larry) Perna of Jeffersonville,
Mary E. Sekerak of Newtown; and one brother, Frank (Louise Delgato) Opelski of Antioch,
Calif.; and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by an infant son,
David.

A full military memorial service was held on Wednesday, April 26, 2006, at the Palms
Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., Henderson, Nev.

in, it was always a good reason to get the family together at Grandmom and Grandpop
Perna's place!  He was a kind and very intelligent man.  Grandmom misses you dearly,
Uncle Ed - look after her!
